Somontano is a Spanish Denominación de Origen (D.O.) for wines, located in the country of the same name, in the province of Huesca. It borders the regions of Sobrarbe and Ribagorza in the North, Hoya de Huesca in the West, the Monegros in the South, and the region of Litera in the East.

 

The name Somontano, as its latin roots suggest, means “beneath the mountain”, and this perfectly defines this geographic area which spreads out from the foothills of the Pyrenees down to the Ebro valley.

 

The D.O. includes 43 municipalities, with more than 4.000 hectares of vines and about 500 individual grape-growers. The area has its own grapes, as “Moristel”, “Parraleta”, or “Alcañón”, which live close to others like Syrah, Riesling, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot noir, Sauvignon Blanc, or Gewürzstraminer

 

Bodega Pirineos was founded on 1993, and it is the founding winery of D.O.P. Somontano. It is deeply rooted in society and has staunch support thanks to the participation of over 200 winemakers from the regional cooperative.

 

Their wines are born from a unique land and age in the Somontano microclimate until becoming solid, original, and personal wines. They are the fruit of perfect balance between international grapes and local varieties of great enological value.

 

Bodega Pirineos has a 72.000m2 product plant, and a cellar with a capacity of 3.000 barrels, which means an annual production of 4.000.000 bottles.

 

With some values typical of its land, like respect for the past, tradition, commitment to the future, innovation, international grapes alongside local varieties of great oenological value, and fusion, the brand tries to share its own atmosphere.

 

That’s why, when they asked us a new project to repositioning the brand according to its own name Pirineos, Pyrenees, we worked on several aspects that define some of the main attributes of the winery.

 

We launched a teaser campaign, with a 1min video in Social media (Facebook and Instagram), to reach our target audience with a short, but very clear message, because we have the name for a winery located near the Pyrenees:

 

We owe you a lot, Pyrenees for letting us use your name.

And the time has come to return this great favor.
